E Content std 5 to 8 Provides  SSA Smgra shiksha Abhiyan Government of India has launched Samagra Shiksha, an overarching program for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class 12 and has the broader goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes. It envisages the ‘school’ as a continuum from pre-school, primary, upper primary, secondary to senior secondary levels.

It subsumes the three schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) for Elementary education; Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) for Secondary & Higher Secondary education & Teacher Education (TE) for capacity building of teachers. The vision of the Scheme is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education from pre-school to higher secondary stage in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for Education. In Gujarat Samagra Shiksha project is being implemented by Gujarat Council of School Education (GCSE). It focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education from pre-school to higher secondary stage in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for Education.Gujarat Council of School Education (GCSE) has grown from an agency for implementing several different projects in school education sector in the state.

Under Samagra Shiksha, all the 33 districts and 4 Municipal Corporations in Gujarat are being covered. Decentralized Management structure is adopted for effective implementation of the projects.

  • Designing of innovative initiatives for Quality Enhancement
  • Create awareness among teachers about new practices in School Education
  • Implementation and dissemination of best and leading practices going on at other States

Vocational Education::

Gujarat is implementing the scheme of Vocationalisation of School Education under the umbrella of ‘Samagra Shiksha - an integrated scheme for school education’, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. The scheme seeks to integrate vocational education with general academic education with an aim to prepare educated, employable and competitive human resource for various sectors of the economy and the global market. The scheme covers Government and aided schools Under this scheme Samagra Shiksha, Gujarat is providing exposure to vocational education to students of Classes 9th to 12th with an aim to provide opportunities to the students to orient themselves with the skills required for the various occupations in a sector.


About Samagra Shiksha, Gujarat::

Samagra Shiksha, Gujarat is implementing Vocational Education Programme for students of Standard 9th to 12th Studying in Govt. Secondary & Senior Secondary School of the state. Initially the program started in the year 2017 in 20 approved government higher secondary schools. In the Academic year 2019-20 it has been expanded to cover 102 more schools thus taking the coverage to 122 schools. It is proposed to start Vocational education to 138 new schools in the State. This will take the reach of Vocational Education programme to 260 Schools.

Under the program, there is a provision for arranging hands on training, field visits, on the job training for students in industrial set up and guest lectures from industry. Arrangements are also being made for providing apprenticeship training to the students passing out with vocational subjects.
